Steps for Building CSRR 1055 or Portland Terminal 1055 By James E. Harter Jr.
This
modeling project has been designed to allow the model railroad
enthusiast to build either the Portland Terminal #1055, which was how
this engine was originally delivered from Alco in the middle of the
twentieth century, or as the Conway Scenic R.R. #1055, which is how the
engine exists today. At the North Conway Scenic Railroad of New
Hampshire for past twenty years or so, #1055 had been a primary engine
working almost daily for that popular tourist railroad. During the
summer of 1999 #1055 has been on display parked off the side of the
turntable in the North Conway Station yard. No matter how you decide to
build your engine, the results will be worth the effort and enjoyed for
years to come. Parts
